Jaguar of North America has filed suit against Millennium Motor Cars of Plano, contending that the owner and eight employees submitted more than $2 million in false warranty claims and other charges over a six-year period.
The owner, David Stephens of Plano, could not be reached for comment late Thursday. A spokeswoman said the dealership had no comment.
However, Millennium filed a countersuit against Jaguar of North America, claiming that several service department employees were responsible for any irregularities and that Jaguar has failed to provide Millennium with the information it needs to investigate any abuses.
A spokeswoman for Jaguar could not be reached for comment late Thursday.
In its suit, Jaguar contends that the most "widespread abuse" was the submission of warranty claims on work that wasn't performed or didn't need to be done.
The suit contends that Stephens, two managers and six technicians were involved in schemes from 2002 to 2008.
